AUDITIONS
West Australian Opera is looking to engage 12 young choristers for paid positions in the upcoming season of Cavalleria rusticana & Pagliacci.
Age range: 10 – 14 years
Height limit: 150 cm
Date and Venue
Auditions will be held at His Majesty's Theatre, Perth from 5.30pm on Wednesday 7 April 2021.
How to apply

- A current CV containing age, current school and all singing/acting experience
to date. This should include a chronological list of performances (either in school or externally) that you have been involved with over the last two years. - An accurate indication of vocal range from lowest to highest comfortable note
- The names of two referees that are not family members
At the audition, each candidate should:
- Perform one song of their choice, from memory, in a language other than
English. Please note the candidate may be stopped before they finish their song, purely to save time. - Sing an unaccompanied scale to demonstrate their range indicated on the online form. A starting note will be provided.
- Be willing to sing back one or more two-bar (eight beat) phrases played by the piano, to an open vowel.
- Answer a series of set questions (no more than three) in an interview format
Successful candidates will be notified within a week of the audition
