KOOLBARDI wer WARDONG

West Australian Opera is seeking four indigenous singers to be part of Koolbardi wer Wardong.
This is a new musical work written by Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse to be performed at His Majesty’s Theatre in October this year. This work is written and sung in Noongar language.
WAO will be auditioning for the following roles:
1. Koolbardi (Magpie) |
Smooth, handsome, slightly arrogant |
2. Wardong (Crow) |
Sensitive, ruggedly handsome, clever |
3. Djidi Djidi (Willy Wagtail) |
Big attitude for a little bird |
4. Miss Djidi Djid (Willy Wagtail’s WAG) |
Full of sass |
Date and Venue
Auditions will be held at West Australian Opera, Level 3, His Majesty’s Theatre on Thursday, March 18 from 1pm to 8pm.
Please prepare two songs for your audition

Additional Information:
- Koolbardi wer Wardong will be sung in language
- Must be 18+ to audition
- Koolbardi wer Wardong will be presented in Perth in October 2021 and will tour in WA in 2022 and 2023
- In addition to the principal cast this opera will feature a Barna Warangka (Children’s chorus) of assorted animals including kangaroo, echidna and many more
