ABOUT
West Australian Opera and Breaksea proudly present THE ALBANY PROJECT, a groundbreaking fusion of music and storytelling that aims to reflect Albany’s vibrant community. In collaboration with Menang Noongar elders, award-winning director Matt Reuben James Ward, contemporary artists, and local youth, this innovative work is being co-created to commemorate Albany 2026.
With a central theme of "A Future Where Anything Is Possible," THE ALBANY PROJECT invites audiences to explore both the rich history and the evolving narrative of the region. Through the power of music and shared storytelling, this production seeks to honour the past, while inspiring visions for a limitless future.
By engaging the community in the creative process, THE ALBANY PROJECT not only showcases Albany’s cultural heritage but also fosters intergenerational connections. This unique collaboration promises to deliver a moving and transformative experience that resonates with the spirit of Albany and its people.
THE ALBANY PROJECT will contribute to a new stage production that will be presented at the Albany Entertainment Centre from 23 - 25 October 2026.
