West Australian Opera is committed to supporting our teachers and community directors in the promotion of choral singing and performance.  This exciting new initiative is in response to calls we have received for assistance in preparing students for choral based performances and or individual school based musical productions.  Our staff will work with, and support you in whatever capacity you require assistance with.  Performance motivation, vocal warm ups, preparation, repertoire challenges, listening and supportive feedback.  Our artists are encouraging, sympathetic and have the ability to work with participants and directors alike.

OPERA IN THE MAJ
It’s all about the drama! Attending an opera performance is exhilarating and unforgettable. Song, Music, Drama, Design and Stagecraft come together in spectacular fashion.

It is a performance genre that sees dramatic elements such as voice, movement, character, roles, relationships, time and space come together against a backdrop of musical masterpieces.

Don’t think you will understand? All of our performances at His Majesty’s Theatre have surtitle (subtitle) screens to help you follow along.

Don’t know what to wear? Jeans, ball gowns and anything in between are perfectly acceptable.
Make a school group booking.

(Please note due to COVID-19 WAO has cancelled all performances until end of July 2020)
